-Long-time teacher (now retired) and coach at PVSS in Armstrong.
-PVSS track teams have won 25 Valley Championship Pennants in the last 11 years.
-Recently (2014) apprenticed for one week at the World Athletics Centre in Phoenix, Arizona under world-renowned coaches Dan Pfaff, Andreas Behm, and Stuart MacMillan.


John Machuga - Middle Distance

                        ​- 26 years of competitive running on the Track, Road, Cross country, Trail, and Ultra in distances ranging from 100m to                         100km.
                        -Won 4 medals (2 gold, 2 bronze) at National competitions as a Junior and Masters runner.
                        -18 years of coaching experience with various organizations; Kelowna Track and Field Club, Okanagan Running Club,                         Vernon Amateur Athletic Association, Kelowna Christian School
                        -Coached athletes ranging in age from 9 years old to 75 years. Also ranging in experience from brand new runners to                         national champions.

Sandy Mills - JD Program

                            Sandy Mills loves the energy of all the JD's and Track Rascals working hard for their respective coaches, and watching                             them progress through the season towards their individual goals. The smiles and high fives are worth their weight in gold.                             With her career as a life coach Sandy brings many skills to her role as a JD track coach. She holds her NCCP Sport                             Coach designation.

Club coached: Kajaks T&F Club for 36 years. VAAA club, last 2 years. Still coaching Kajaks Masters by proxy.                                    (2nd claim member)
As a Master athlete: Competed in track, road and cross country for 32 years. Completed 9 marathons under 3 hours.
Awards: 3 x Kajaks Master Athlete of the year. City of Richmond, Master Athlete of The year. City of Richmond, Builder of the year.(For volunteer work). City of Richmond Coach of the year. Kajaks Coach of the year.

Hedley Larson - Throws

​                            Born: Calgary Alberta Dec 05, 1964
                            Father of Three kids Two boys (21 Chase & 19 Rhys) and one girl (16 Carly)
                            Wonderful understanding wife that I have been married to for (24 yrs) fantastic years (Lisa Larsen.)
                            I attended Bishop Carrol High school in Calgary and graduated 1982, I played football and competed in track and field                             winning the City and provincial championship in Discus also won the shot put for the city and placed second for the                             province. I went on to compete in the Canada Games in 1985 that were held in St John's NewBrunswick. I have been                             coaching all my adult life. Hockey, soccer, baseball, & Now track and field throwing events. I still compete in the discus                             event in the masters division.
                            Remember to throw far and smile.

I ran for the University of Ottawa for 4 years, competing in cross country and middle distance (600m-1500m) and relays (4x400 and 4x800). In highschool I also ran 400m hurdles. Now I like to run in the trails around kal park and coach at the track. I also like to run my age every birthday! Katie is NCCP club coach certified
Grade 12 Student at Seaton. Jesse competes in 100m, 200m sprints and hurdles. She is an NCCP certified Sport Coach
Jesse Markin - Jr. Coach
Grade 12 student at Seaton. He competes in 1500m, 3000m, steeplechase, cross country, triathlon and road bike and cyclocross racing. He is an NCCP certified Sport Coach
Mollie is in Grade 12 at Seaton. She competes in middle distance events, 400m and cross country. Mollie is an NCCP Certified Sport Coach.

Morgan is in grade 11 and is both a high jumper and a long jumper and if needed she competes in the 4x100m relay. She is on the high school track team as well as involved in club track and field for 5 years and says she has loved every minute of it. Morgan is an NCCP Certified Sport Coach.

Jaeda Ostoforoff - Jr. Coach
My name is Jaeda Ostoforoff. I am 18 years old and completing my senior year in high school. My events are 100m sprint, 200m sprint, and 100m hurdles. My favourite thing about track is embracing the thrill it comes with running at hyper speeds. I am excited to share my passion with all of you. Jaeda is a certified NCCP Sport Coach. 
I am enthusiastic about developing children’s health and fitness through sport and try to strike a balance between good fun and friendly competition.
